The fix is in, as they say. Most people don’t realize the “Federal Reserve” is not part of the US government. It’s often referred to as a “quasi-governmental” agency, but that’s just to obscure the real truth. It’s a privately owned system making that top 1 percent of the top 1 percent obscenely rich.

The fix to the fix? The American Monetary Act:

The American Monetary Act corrects and reforms the system with three elements:

First, the Federal Reserve system becomes incorporated into the U.S. Treasury. This nationalizes the money system, not the banking system. Banking is not a proper function of government, but control and oversight of the money system must be done by government.

Second, the accounting privilege banks now have of creating money through fractional reserve lending of their credit is stopped entirely, once and for all. Banks remain private companies and are encouraged to act as intermediaries between their clients who want a return on their savings and those clients willing to pay for borrowing those savings, but they may no longer create any part of the nation’s money supply.

Third, new money is introduced into circulation by government spending it into circulation starting with the $2.2 trillion the engineers tell us is needed for infrastructure repair and renewal. In addition, health care and education are included as human infrastructure. Everyone supports the infrastructure, but they worry how to pay for it. That becomes possible with passage of the American Monetary Act.

Highly recommended reading. Go here to read about Dennis Kucinich’s widely ignored bill to make it law. Then get the full background and the document itself.

I really want an iPad. Have for some time now.

Ever since I heard Apple was coming out with tablet computer, I knew I wanted it. I knew it would be a game changer. I knew it would reshape the market. But I held off. I’ve never been an early adopter. Also, I wasn’t sure the name would catch on. It reminded me of a feminine product…

Plus, I didn’t really need one, I just wanted one. But now that it’s proven itself in the market, I’m looking at it again.

I still want it. But do I need it? Let us review…

The iPad is easy to use. Of course it is, everything from Apple is. But the real genius here is that millions of people just like me have already experienced the iPad without ever buying one–because it’s basically like a big iPhone! While I don’t have an iPhone (the AT&T network is why!) I have held a few, and I can attest using one is stupid simple. So the learning curve to use the iPad must be minimal as well.

The iPad eliminates the need to buy page-based media. No more newspapers, magazines, and books! Hmm. This really makes it tempting. I can imagine how much simpler life would be if it took just a few clicks on a device I’m already carrying around to buy today’s paper or this month’s issue of my favorite magazine…or the latest best seller.

Not to mention you only have the one thing to carry around, as opposed to all that paper. No more lugging stacks of books around, or narrowing my choices down to two or three paperbacks to take on vacation. The luxury of having all this information in one convenient device is very appealing. I might miss clipping coupons on Sunday. Then again, probably not.

It’s large. Almost 10 inches. And that’s a good thing, me thinks. My little netbook has an 8″ diagonal screen, and while that makes it easy to shove into my briefcase, in reality the screen is way too small to use comfortably for very long. Plus because the iPad is flat, and because it doesn’t need to be opened like a clamshell netbook, it provides virtually instant access to all its wonders. This makes it convenient to use anywhere–unlike a netbook.

The say battery life is amazing. A friend told me he uses his iPad pretty much all day every day, between 8 and 9 hours. This beats the crap out of my netbook, which lasts 4 hours if I’m lucky. I can imagine an iPad replacing not just my laptop, but possibly even my desktop as well.

It has thousands of apps. Sure, it looks beautiful, but it’s got to be useful. We’re all doing more and more on the Internet every day. The iPad is great just as a browser, but the plethora of apps really opens up a whole new world of possibility. Have you seen the star gazing app? Amazing. Not to mention you can download music and movies, even stream radio and live TV. Talk about an all-in-one device!

So, now I really, really, REALLY want one. In fact, after going through all these pros, the only con I can think of is the price. I still can’t justify such a high price tag for something I want…but that I don’t need.

Do I want one? You bet. Do I need it? Not yet.

But an iPad sure would make a great birthday present! Whoever gets one for me will have my undying devotion for months! Longer, even!

WikiLeaks ain’t got nuthin on these Yahoos:

“AllThingsD’s Liz Gannes is reporting that the products will be in fact shut down and that the slide does in fact originate from an all hands meeting at Yahoo, following yesterday’s layoffs. As if we needed more proof, Yahoo Product Manager Blake Irving has threatened to fire whomever leaked the slide.”

This is BIG news in IM circles, since this site and many like it are crucial to getting a post/page/video ranked. Is the same fate in store for other “underperforming” or “off-strategy” assets in the social bookmarking arena? Only time will tell, but for now, but clearly it’s time to spread your eggs into other baskets.

Over Thanksgiving my mother in law (Hi, Mom!) asked me what “the cloud” was. I think she heard the term on a commercial or something. She knows I’m the best know-it-all to ask, her “go to guy.”

Anyway, I decided to do a little research and lo and behold, twas not exactly what I told her. Viola– a blog post was born!

The “cloud” essentially refers to applications and their data that are delivered over the Internet or via wireless technology. Essentially, the term describes a sort of a “universal briefcase” which allows consumers to access their information using a standardized application from multiple devices such as a desktop, laptop or mobile device.

More recent iPhone and iPad apps have extended the functionality for cloud computing to now include collaboration tools which allow real-time edits and the crowd sourcing of information. Today, cloud-computing is being driven by the mobile device more than the desktop or laptop connected to the Internet.

Dropbox is the grand-daddy of cloud services. A Dropbox membership comes with an initial 2GB storage plan which will soon outgrow your needs once you realize the productivity gains associated with cloud functionality. Additional freemium storage plans are available 50GB and 100GB with annual or monthly subscription rates allows you to use Dropbox as a de-facto back-up, sync, anytime access point to your data regardless of whether you are home, at the office, or out of country.

At the same time, the service is device agnostic giving you access to the same data from your iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Mac/PC laptop or desktop computer. As of December 2010, Dropbox’s hosting service supports 10 client applications providing the broadest scope and reach for consumers. With Dropbox’s service, the need to lug around a USB key or your laptop is virtually eliminated. In early 2010, Dropbox announced it had 4 million users using the service.

Box.net is a cloud-based content management solution for consumers, small business and large corporations. Similar to Dropbox, it also uses a freemium model with some parts of the service available for free while the more robust version of the service is made available at a price. At the free plan level, the competitive advantage over Dropbox is the 5GB of free web storage you get as a free account holder compared to Dropbox’s 2GB of web-storage.

An added advantage with Box.net is that that it allows you to cloud sync data files as large as 25MB — equivalent to Google’s Gmail, which allows a maximum 25MB file attachment via email. Where Box.net exceeds is in its collaborative tools and processes, which allow for full text search, advanced user permission controls, file insight and tracking, document version history, task management and integration to Google Apps.

Box.net enables for powerful cloud-based collaboration between functional teams in separate offices, across cities, and across countries. If you need to collaborate with individuals or teams in the cloud to create documents or other data, Box.net excels with its application toolset and may be a better option for you than Dropbox.

SugarSync is yet another cloud-based hosting service providing anytime, anywhere, any device access to important data and provides clients for PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry and other platforms. While SugarSync doesn’t provide a freemium model, it does offer a limited free trial before you commit to one of their paid plans.

There are few differentiation points between this service and all others — it offers secure data protection, anytime-anywhere access, no sync limits, limited collaboration, file versioning and cross-platform functionality with a host of client applications — but it’s certainly worth a good look.

In the world of cloud-based web-hosting services, these three contenders represent the lion-share of cloud-services designed to help individuals, small businesses and enterprise environment gain a productivity edge.

Does that answer your question, Mom?

The Money Is In The List.
The money is in the list.
THE MONEY IS IN THE LIST!

Yes, I know you’ve heard it before. But if you’ve tried to actually build a list, you know it’s not as easy as it sounds.

For many people, it’s not easy at all. In fact, it’s downright PAINFUL.

But just as building a web site got infinitely easier with the advent of WordPress, so list building has now gotten that much easier with a new WordPress Plugin called Digi List Builder, from Andy Fletcher.

If you want or need to build your list — and you use WordPress — this is a no brainer. It’s even more of a nobrainer because at the moment it’s 70% off.

Andy Fletcher is the genius behind DigiResults.com (the up-and-coming ClickBank killer) and Digi Launch Pad (the Internet marketer’s wet dream of a WordPress theme).

Now Andy gives us a WordPress plugin that reduces THE most frustrating parts of list building to just a few simple clicks of the mouse. You’ve got to see it to believe it.

Here, check it out:

He plans to sell it for $97, and it will be WELL WORTH IT for that price — but right now it’s on special via WSO (Warrior Special Offer on the Warrior Forum) where you can snag it for a mere $27.

At that price I would almost recommend you buy it even if you don’t need it now, but if you think you might one day. Because the price will go up. Andy doesn’t mess around with fake scarcity — when he says the price will rise, the price will, indeed, rise…

So my advice is this…

Watch the video. If you’re intrigued, go and check out the offer. Then decide if it’s the kind of tool that will save you time, reduce headaches, and add to your bottom line.

If you think it might, then do yourself a favor and snag it before Andy closes the WSO. You have a couple of days left.

Go now. Why are you still here?

When I find a cool product, I really want to share it. This is a cool product.

I truly didn’t know what it was when I found it. I wasn’t looking for it, I didn’t know I needed it.

What I did know was that I found myself in a state of overwhelm more often than I cared to admit. I would have a to-do list a mile long, with too many choices, too many priorities, seemingly short on time all the time, and I wasn’t being as productive as I expected myself to be.

But then I was lucky enough to get a review copy of Brain Juicer. (The creator of this product is also a member of AJ Silver’s coaching program, and we have become friendly there. The fact that he has produced a product and is selling it should tell you something…but I digress.)

I downloaded it without having a clue what it was — honest! I was just going to give a friend some honest feedback. I’m really glad I did!

I unpacked it, gave it a listen, and at first I was MORE than skeptical: I surmised this was just another smoke and mirrors game, some snake oil elixer designed to separate the gullible from their money. But then I decided to actually USE it as it is intended to be used, and POW, my overwhelm vanished! I got stuff done! I focused! I felt creative! How could this be?!

Long story short, I’m a believer. And so I recommend it to you here. I mean, jeez, it’s only seven bucks! For the price of a cheap lunch, you might get twice as much done tomorrow as you did yesterday. If you ask me, that’s a helluva value. And yes, I may be compensated if you buy it, so if that bothers you, enjoy your overwhelm.
